Working at Vaughn College was a natural choice for Byron Gittens, who since age 7 has had a passion for aviation. "When I was a child, I could remember waking up on the weekend and asking to be driven to Kennedy or LaGuardia airports to watch planes land and take off," Gittens says. As an admissions counselor at Vaughn, he is often the first representative of the College many potential students experience. His responsibilities include making admissions decisions; counseling students and their families on the admissions process, academic advisement and registration of first-time students and representing the College at information fairs.

Says Gittens: "I still get to live and breathe aviation while servicing students and helping them achieve their educational and career goals. It is rewarding being surrounded by students and staff who have a love or interest in aviation and the College's other degree programs."
