Non-Faculty Positions Director of Career Services
Vaughn College is seeking a director of career services to assist in the development of career services programs and job opportunities in the communities served by the College and advise students on appropriate career paths and academic courses to prepare them for employment. This includes but, not limited to establish contact with employers; develop plans for employer relations; determine employment opportunities and marketing and promoting the College’s students and work preparation program; assist students in preparing resumes, portfolios and in interviewing techniques; develop and advise volunteer and non-credit internship resources and programs; promote expansion of college internship and programs; lead and coordinate campus recruiting, on-campus interviews, and career fairs; develop related publications and marketing materials; conduct research and write reports; assess programs and services; present career development and job search programs; and participate in new student orientation, commencement and convocation activities as well as serve on committees/task forces and attend and participate in various college meetings. Perform other related duties. Work schedule may include some evenings and weekends. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree/Master’s preferred in an appropriately related field and two years experience assisting college level students and alumni to develop career plans and developing job opportunities. Must have demonstrated knowledge and abilities in recruiting, employment or job preparation; student career advising; information technology literacy skills; and effective oral and written communication skills; and ability to work with a diverse student population. Admissions Counselor
Vaughn College is seeking an admissions counselor who will assist the assistant vice president of enrollment in coordinating the admissions program by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. - Counsels students and families on the admissions process.
- Travels to local and regional college and high school information fairs.
- Tele-counsels prospective students.
- Reviews applicant files and makes admissions decisions.
- Academically advises and registers first time students.
- Monitors new student compliance of application and immunization requirements.
- Performs any additional duties assigned by the AVP of enrollment through the associate director of admissions.
Qualifications: Minimum criteria: bachelor’s degree required. Preferred criteria: bachelor’s degree and one-to two-years’ college admissions or recruiting experience. Instructional Designer
Vaughn College of Aeronautics and Technology seeks an Instructional Designer who will provide instructional and program design for faculty and staff related to pedagogy, student-centered instruction, learning styles, and the incorporation of instructional technologies to support and enhance learning. This is a full-time, grant-funded position. positions to teach three-week sessions at Vaughn’s additional location in
Hyderabad, India. The three-week instruction sessions will be offered from July
13, 2009 through August 2, 2009. The faculty will be responsible to teach 20
hours of lecture and 45 lab hours during the three weeks, which will be
followed by 10 hours of instruction online. Applicants must have a minimum of a
master’s degree in electronics/ avionics, doctoral degree preferred. Related
industrial experience is required. Prior teaching experience including online
courses is a plus. Teaching responsibilities will be primarily in avionics
courses such as aircraft communications, navigation systems, radar systems etc.

Full-time Faculty, Engineering and Engineering Technology
Vaughn College seeks applicants for a full-time faculty position in the engineering and engineering technology department. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in Vaughn’s bachelor of science in engineering program specializing in mechatronics, and the bachelor of science in electronic engineering technology�"general electronics option. Vaughn has received significant funding over the next two years for enhanced laboratories and a partnership with a local community college. Ideally, Vaughn seeks a candidate who can assist faculty with course content and laboratory experiences.
Specific responsibilities will include: teaching lecture and laboratory undergraduate courses in mechatronic engineering program; be familiar with mechatronics and general electronics laboratory equipment and able to assist the engineering department in the design of a new mechatronics laboratory; advise mechatronic engineering students and serve on department/college committees; participate in scholarly activities such as working with students to present and publish papers related to mechatronics/electronics at professional journals and conferences.; design courses that support the student learning outcomes outlined by the chair; assess student performance throughout course and program using the Vaughn College faculty course assessment model. Qualifications: A PhD in appropriate field is preferred. Experience in electrical engineering, mechatronics and robotics is highly desirable. Those with only a master's degree must demonstrate significant professional experience in this field. Industrial and teaching experiences also preferred.
