CULTURAL IMMERSION >

Vaughn College’s Cultural Immersion Program is structured to develop students’ basic English communication skills (listening and speaking) with a main focus on aviation terminology. The program will also provide students with hands-on experience in the fields of aviation, air traffic control, avionics and mechanical engineering to advance their knowledge and possible pursuit of a diploma in aeronautics. In addition, students will experience American culture, in particular, the cultural diversity and the exciting offerings of New York City.

In general, the program offers classes and labs that run Monday through Thursday mornings from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and weekday afternoons from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Weekday evenings, Fridays and weekends are set aside for students to participate in cultural events and activities that will allow them to explore the diversity of New York City and practice conversational English. Students enrolled in the program will reside on the Vaughn College campus where meals will be provided through our onsite cafeteria, the Aviation Café.

The College currently implements this program for many different countries. Each program is individually tailored to specific country and group needs, and the length of the program is also determined independently. This summer Vaughn will be hosting groups from China, Ireland, Turkey and the West Indies.
